About

Welcome to EcoMagicians, a place for individuals to explore the art of EcoMagic and its role in liberating ecosystems from oppression and violence. EcoMagicians is the blog site for The Center for Revolutionary Magic, an organization that ties together critical youth and utopian studies with anarchist and esoteric systems and philosophies. By working to identify conflict and co-create imaginative responses, anyone anywhere can implement anything whenever they choose.

Essentially, EcoMagicians is at the cross-sections between spirituality and revolution, where magic is discussed in relation to entheogens, native resistance, ecological resilience, and general creativity. In a time of terror and ecological uncertainty, EcoMagicians functions as an arena in which all magicians, from novice to ipsissimus, can come together and relate their particular techniques with one another, working together to effect new paradigms of public perception, environmental insight, and elemental resonance. Please be respectful.

“According to the traditional philosophy of the Magicians, every man is a unique autonomous centre of individual consciousness, energy, and will—a soul, in a word…”

Below are 13 postulates put forward in a social theory of magic–

1: Magic is a form of social action

2. Magic social action consists of symbolic performances–and
linguistic symbolism is central to magic

3. Magical symbolic action is rigidly scripted

4. Magical scripts achieve their social effects largely by
pre-existing or pre-figured agreements

5. Magic borrows symbolism from religion and uses it to argue with
religion in a dialectic that renews religion

6. Logically, and in some observable historical sequences, magic
derives from religion rather than vice-versa

7. Magic is a byproduct of the projection of society in religion

8. Religion is the institution that creates or models magic for society

9. Magic tries to protect the self

10. Magic helped develop the institution of the individual

11. Magic–especially black magic–is an index of social pressures on
selves and individuals

12. Magic persists as an expression of certain aspects of civilization

13. Magical symbolism travels easily and accumulates a history

    • I would like to ask this in relation to this. It seems to be quite a taboo question though, and having asked several quite well-known psychedelic researchers and been met with silence this is what has made me think it has that effect, and/or they think me a bit crazy asking it lol. Is anyone aware that there is occultism and magick behind terrible events like 9/11 and 7/7 etc. And that these signatures can be seen in other seemingly unrelated events like for example the assassination of John Kennedy, and even The Manhattan Project, and Space programs. And also the very city design and building measurements in Washington DC, etc. Do you know if any EcoMagicians talk about this weird stuff? I research it and it is a deep rabbit hole. I tend to think that this kind of magick the elites use is very much NOT eco-centred (because you know them by their actions), but it based on military power and mindcontrol. But I think it is VERY important for this to be made aware of when we explore other forms of magic–more organic forms of magic–which is why I am inquiring about this here. Any thoughts about this?

      • Hi juliano,

I think if by occultism you mean “hidden forces” then that is certainly true. Unconscious forces are with us all the time, structuring so much, if not all, of what we do. Whether that means ways in which magical techno-priests use their power to sacrifice others in accordance with their own plans for control, or manipulate reality to conform with their wishes, or simply suck the life out of their world for personal enrichment, it all comes back to magic and the art of changing consciousness in accordance with will.

I would suggest that all magic is eco-centered, if not consciously then unconsciously, since any consequence will necessarily have repercussions that extend through one’s relations with reality to affect the ecosystem the magical action is immersed within. Mind control and Military are immersed in ecologies, so they will naturally have ecological effects. For instance Terrorism –> War –> Eco-assault. The larger the impact, the larger the effect. Yet there is a difference between eco-nomy (ruling the home) and eco-logy (studying the home). Whether we choose to impose our ideology of “how it should be” vs. listen to the land as to “how it is” defines our relationship to magic and so to each other and selves.

On the “Occult War”, see section 8 of “Book of Lies: disinformation guide to magick and the occult,” including combat manuals for a revolt against the modern world (Michael Moynihan), information on the media hex and occult assault on institutions (Hakim Bey), as well as an essay on the deep forces behind the world-crisis. Feel free to continue the conversation here or at activefolklore@gmail.com

  1. I love where you say: “Whether we choose to impose our ideology of “how it should be” vs. listen to the land as to “how it is” defines our relationship to magic and so to each other and selves.”

But I was disappointed, I must admit, when you mention Crowley and his book The Book of Lies in the affirmative? IE., are you by saying that including Crowley’s magic’K’ as listening to the land? Because from what I have found out, Crowley is actually a prophet of the very elite’s evil forces which imposes ideology and is genocidal against those who are not the elite, and ecocide. Have you read this book:
Prophet of Evil: Aleister Crowley, 9/11 and the New World Order, by William Ramsey

  2. Hey j.

Not Crowley’s Book of Lies, but the Book of Lies edited by Richard Metzger http://www.amazon.com/Book-Lies-Disinformation-Magick-Occult/dp/097139427X On Crowley, as with many other magicians, there is a tendency for self-aggrandizement. However, his concept of magic included two aspects: imagination and will. If those two aspects can be aligned with the integrity of the geographic psyche, then there is not necessarily a conflict. Magic is by its nature empowering, and with it affords the practitioner an “elite” skill-set that can be used for whatever purpose is intended. Ecomagicians is a place to consider how magic can be employed to heal the land, and with it, our own greater sense of self.

  3. Well I am still not attracted to it really. I sense that there is a MASSIVE misunderstanding, and this derives from the suppression and denial of the ancient lunar mythology of the Goddess. That like the Christians were known to plnk their churches right in the middle of sacred pagan places, and from their snidely substitute their interpretation of reality over the more earth-centred understanding, so it has been with the solar cults doing the same, and this is really where modern forms of magic(k) derive from.
The very concept OF ‘will’ is really ego-driven. I suspect that what I would call ecological magic is not ego driven at all. it does not impose itself on things because the main insight is flow and ebb and cycles, and it is more an attuning with that mystery.
EVERY person who is ‘pagan’ and into the occult I have tried to talk about 9/11 and 7/7 etc etc with as being false flags and the doings of an occult elite, I have met with disinterest, denial, resistance, ridicule, and sometimes hostility, and apathy. That to me is a big hint supporting what I sense.

  4. No worries, Crowley is definitely not for everyone…and divine femininity has been very much targeted and systematically destroyed by Christians, though Christianity is in various places considered to have derived from fertility cults.

On the ego-driven will, what was meant was the role of the “I”. Regarding “will,” perhaps less about imposition but rather how reality is understood, and how life recapitulates one’s relation to it, how “inner” states are reflected in behavior, extending into the world to cause “difference”–, that it is the process by which potentialities are actualized–in the personal intention of the un/conscious individual. Still an ebb and flow in the individual, and cosmic/ecological cycles are present, which an individual can “attune” to, and learn to partner with.

Whether the “I” enters into relation for collaborative growth, or seeks to impose a will, the effects are vastly different, but it is part of the same process: relating to a world that reshapes intention and similarly action. The power to commune and separate, freely acting as one wills.

Regarding the theme of “power”, where corruption, exploitation, and “black magic” come into play, as in:

How to make 2 buildings “disappear” using magic,

the Occult (hidden) forces behind the twin tower collapse–including political-economic-religious-cultural reasons, desires for global control, resource exploitation, personal aggrandizement, internal foundations of the building…regardless, there is the imposition of will, with an intention. What that means in terms of how to respond is certainly an important issue, one that can lead to more war, more terrorism, more security, or more justice and peace.

Crowley said Magic was “the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will”, including both “mundane” acts of will as well as ritual magic. Crowley wrote that “it is theoretically possible to cause in any object any change of which that object is capable by nature”.

If “Change” is aligned with the interests of life, then magic in conformity with free will (for instance, the purpose to protect life), then at the point at which the individual seeks to protect a grove, or watershed, or wetland, or prairie…if our intention is to grow together instead of exploit and destroy our relationships, then the effects of how we act accordingly have consequences that extend into the relations we cocreate.

  5. According to Crowley, True will is a person’s grand destiny in life, and at other times as a moment to moment path of action that operates in perfect harmony with Nature. This Will does not spring from conscious intent, but from the interplay between the deepest Self and the entire Universe. True Will directs the individual towards destiny and forces them into the joy of accomplishing what they were meant to accomplish without “lust of result”(outside motivations).

Love is the law, love under will.” http://www.sacred-texts.com/oto/engccxx.htm
